Default 4 speed gears

Can anyone tell me how I can find out what gear ratios are in my Borg Warner T 10, it is original to my 76 L 48?

Thanks,

If there is a small drop in rpm (500 or so) between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears, but a large drop (1500rpm) from 3rd to 4th, then you have a wide ratio 4-speed (2.54 low), which usually came witl a 3.36 or 3.08 rear end. if you have a small drop (500 to 800rpm from 3rd to 4th gear, then you have a close ratio 4-speed (2.20 low), which normally came with a 3.70 or 4.11 rear axle ratio.

Sorry VetteNURSE, I really can't help you any more than what I posted. I now very little about the Borg Warner transmission. This was just some information I came across and saved while I was trying to learn about them.
Hopefully someone else will read your post and shed some more light on the subject.

Here's another link that may help or confuse you more.

Maybe if you post the numbers you have or pictures of them that might help too.
Is your transmission an iron case or aluminum case?
If your transmission is original to your 76 I would imagine GM only offered one variation of the B/W for the Corvette but who knows.

According to my GM 1976 spec sheet, all L-48 and some L-82 used a RPO M20 transmission.

2.64, 1.75, 1.34, 1.00.

This is what my '76 has.
