who makes trailer hitches for our vette? I actually like the idea of having one on mine just for the purpose of getting rear ended it adds a little support. Where can I buy one for me '82?

I get mine at U-Haul, they sell for a good price and install hitches all day every day so they have some experience. There is 2 types a stealth and a regular one, The stealth is $209 plus install etc.

It isn't often I have any info to impart, but I do on the Vette/trailler towing. In 1970, I bought a base engine 300hp, auto, Vetter convertible, by the way, the AC worked great in that car. I pulled a 16' low profile semi V Tahiti ski boat, with a 135hp Evinrude. Trailer was about 18' long. The Vette pulled that rig like a champ and did not overheat. The hitch was a well known brand, Maybe U Haul? It bolted onto the frame and was hinged with a big pin so the part the ball was mounted on could swing down to get to the spare tire. A mechanic at a shop that did a lot of hot rod work put it on for me. The boat and trailer sort of dwarfed the car in length and height.

I hope you are not asking if it pulled them at the same time haha...
That pic is from 1998. I do own quads but pull them with my Dually now.
My Vette did tow that boat once, in an emergency situation. It was a 19 foot Caravelle open bow, was funny to see but it pulled it like a champ. The car did tow quads and jetskis for many many years though.
In the picture you quoted, the car had about 430 HP with a 368 4 bolt small block with dart heads and 11:1 compression. These days it has a big block with around 600 HP.
