Default deciphering differential alphabet

In need of rebuilding differential and looking at parts or just buying a quality used one with the stub axles.

I have a 69, manual trans, sb 350, and wondered if this advertised item would work, and should I be asking other questions?

Pics of ring gear and other details about end play and lash have my interest. Item is being sold by Big City Corvettes.

"Positraction Non-HD 3.36 Ratio

Correct for 1971 Corvettes w/Posi 3.36 w/o HD"

Figured HD meant Heavy Duty and my car has this same ratio.

the only difference between HD and Non HD is the sub axles, hd is caps instead of straps on the ujoint connection. the pumpkins are all the same unless there is some aftermarket hardening or an aftermarket carrier inside..
a good price is maybe 300 for a used one and 800 for a rebuilt one with new bearings, seals, and clutches.. a new ring and pinion are a plus and the $800 ones may or may not have new gears.. best to ask..
all the pumpkins are the same except for the cast codes and date codes.. i think the 80-82 years are lighter duty.

thanks for the info and pricing scheme...

Will the HD model necessarily have a larger diameter flange on the stub axle? Still reading up on all this and not sure what the critical factor is, i.e., small block v. BB, or manual v. auto, but the flange comes in two sizes. The larger is 4 1/4."
