You can find a good shop manual for your year corvette on ebay. My 81 has this connection (81 was the first year for the corvette ECM) The shop manual will show you exactly how to do a "Diagnostic Circuit Check" if your check engine lamp comes on.

Yup, its the DLC. if you jump the two terminals on the left you can flash trouble codes through your check engine light. A good way to check if your system is operating properly is to jump them and see if it flashes only a code 12. If you have just a 12 your system should be running well.
