My daughter and her military husband are supposed to get transferred to Germany [Bamberg] I think in august. My question to you guys is who is the best cell phone provider over there and is there some type of American satellite television over there. I was stationed there in the mid 70's in Kitzingen and loved my tour there and my daughter is also excited about going over there. I told them to get out and meet the folks and go traveling. Thanks for any info
I was stationed in Kitzingen in the mid-late 80s. Harvey Bcks., 1-15INF.
I also was at Harvey barracks but it was when the 3rd Infantry division was still there 1974 thru summer of 1976. two and one half years there and enjoyed it
Call and talk to some of the major cell phone carriers about their international plans.
I travelled though Germany many times and had a blast. Ktown, Rhein Mein, Ramstein, Sembach. Beautiful country. When I lived in Italy, I travelled around the country as much as I could to experience the culture. Learning some basic German before they go would be very helpful. Congrats and good luck to them.

Use Skype, it is a great and free tool.
I use it everyday here from Denmark to India/Sri Lanka. And it works perfect.
Remember that you also can "call out" from Skype, that means you can call from a PC to a phone/cellphone. This cost a bit of money, but not much. This is called "Skype out"
