Default '77 Rebuild

Hey guys, long time no see.

Lots of stuff since I first posted here...got engaged, got a puppy, and bought a house. The last one is the most important for the Vette, since we have a place to put it! We trailered it up last Saturday and have been tinkering a bit since then.

She starts right up with minimal issues, but I think the alternator is shot which is killing the battery. The GEN light is on every once in awhile, including when the key isn't in, which is weird.

Plans for today: figure out the headlight actuator business, replace the alt, replace the turn signal switch (it seems the plastic is broken, so turning on the lights means turning on the wipers), check all the fuses, put more gas in it and let it run.

Here she is at the house:

Couple of things we're working on doing is replacing the exhaust (looking for a system with Flowmaster 40s), need to get new floorpans still and have those welded in, getting a new front bumper since currently there's nothing there. Once we get those done and the electrical gremlins fixed, I'll be able to get it registered. Oh right, have to do the whole front end steering bits, but I have all those parts already.

Its nice to see another vette comming back to life. One thing you should look at since you mentioned your floor pans being in need of replacement I am assuming they are rusted away? Take a few minutes and pull the drivers side and passengers side kick panels off and look into that body mount area to see if there is any bad rust in there.

Yeah the car is more like a flinstones car right now. You're up and personal with the ground on the pass side. I already stripped the interior and the rest looks pretty good, thankfully. I think the back window leaked at some point, it started off with the pass side being a bit soft, but that was 10 years ago.
