I have an 82, like the car, hate the seats. They lean to far back and not enough lumbar support. Would like to upgrade to fix these issues but not break the bank. Whats the best way to go. Any suggestions? Thanks
1. Pontiac Fiero - a common swap
2. C5 or C6
3. After Market - Corbeau A4s and a few others. Most after market seats will not fit!
Most Fiero seats are purchased at a junk yard and then reupholstered. C5-6 purchased off of Ebay or the Forum. I just bought a set of leather A4s for $1300, but cloth are much cheaper. Once they are installed, Ill post some photos. If you are tall, make sure you buy the modified seat rails as they will give you more head room. There are lots of threads to see what all of these seats look like installed.
I am currently putting c6 seats in my 81, very comfortable, full adjustable both sides, will have to make custom brackets both sides and will be droppings passenger floor 2 inches tomororrw so that passenger will have full power to, plan to hook up the air bags if make that work though most people take them out
Put a set of the narrow Corbeau A4's in my 76. Ordered with the 1 inch foam taken out of the bottom option and still had to mount them to the floor so they could tilt foward. They have two different A4 sets, wide and narrow, so if you go this route make sure you get the narrow ones because the wides won't fit.
