Default Engine Fire '77

All,

I picked up a '77 vette from my brother that had an electrical fire. The vette was originally mine and now I am getting it back. The distributor and a lot of the rear wires and hoses have been melted. Most damage was at the rear of the motor on the driver's side. The intakkeplastic and fan shroud melted as well. The wiring leading into the cabin on the drivers side (where it enters the cabin) were not damaged at that entry point. I will try to post some pics. I am hoping that I can purchase a couple wiring harnesses and get this thing operable again without a lot of costs. I am looking for a driver for fun and not looking to get back to all orginal parts. Take a look and let me know if you think it will be dfficult.

Thanks,

Todd

My guesstimate would be you will need a new forward lamp harness and a new engine harness. I'm guessing the vacuum hoses also melted.

Great info, thanks guys. If I knew how to post pictures I would. Any direction on how to do that? When I click to post pictures it asks for my web location. Not sure how to post something on the web for this.
