Why not just jack it up and check the rear gears?

Trust me, it's on the list. I just can't remember if I can jack up just one rear tire and check the drive shaft rotation to the rear tire rotation, or if both rear wheels need to be up.

Default checked my differential ratio

So I decided I needed to verify if I have a 3.08 or 3.36 differential ratio. So I jacked up both rear tires, marked a starting point, and spun them ten times. Here's a video of the driveshaft, rotating about 33.6 times around and 33.6/10 gives me a ratio of 3.36. So indeed my 39T driven gear should have been correct.

So now I know what drive gear teeth I have, what driven gear teeth I should be using on 26" diameter tires (39T), and I know what my speedo reads at 60mph according to my GPS device on my phone.

My plan is to take out my speedometer gauge and adjust the spring tension on it. To do this, I'll take my drill and connect it to the gauge via an extra cable I have. Next I'll spin the drill up so that the speedo gauge reads 52mph, which according to my GPS, is what it read when I was doing 60mph. So putting some tape on the drill to keep the RPMs steady, I'll adjust the spring tension so that it reads 60mph.

That's the plan anyway.
