Ahh- thanks. Can those be called repro miles and is there a deduction in judging?
I agree, NOS parts are high dollar, but i don't think there should be a deduction in judging. Repro miles would be a good indicator of what has been replaced/repaired.
Maybe a statement like its a 75,000/20,000 vehicle would represent a car with 75000 original miles and 20,000 since being rebuilt/replaced would be more helpful when looking to buy/sell

I purchase thousands of reproduction miles for pennies on the dollar so I can drive my Corvette as much as I want.
Then on judging day I just bolt the original miles back on to avoid the deduction.

Excellent plan. I like that. I guess the act of putting the right miles on the car on the right day would be called 'matching numbers'? So that's what the expression means...........

Yes, in fact I'm still looking for the original numbers matching 2,346 - 2,764 miles that was taken off my car by the previous owner in 1970 on some Kansas highway. All the others are accounted for and stored in a box for judging purposes.
...Come on people use your heads 30-44 year old cars with low miles???? Come on now. LOL
While many of us do not own them, original low miles cars do exist. I have seen a Pace Car which did not go through dealer prep and had exactly 11 miles on the odometer at the time I saw it.
There was a highly documented 72 ZR-1 at the 2010 NCRS event with less than 300 miles on it.
David,
That car belongs to Al Wagner. He purchased the car from the original owner a few years ago. That guy basically drove the car around the block once a year which accounts for the low odometer reading. It looks and feels like a new car.
I had the privledge of doing the Performance Verification on that car at an NCRS regional meet in Kissimmee, FL a few years ago... It went over the 300 mile mark on the 10 mile road test.
That PV also qualifies as the best PV ride I was ever on... Al did not baby the car.
I parked this Vette in 1973 for a couple of reasons...gas went crazy for the first time and 100+ octane was becoming scarce...and another reason is that the 5 year warantee expired in 73

...2 years old
.....parked mileage and todays mileage +1
That a true '68 L88? I'm surprised I've never seen this perusing the forum. Gorgeous car, love the Safari Yellow.
I got my '71 12 yrs ago., it read 108,000 which i think is correct.
there are some low mileage cars out there but not as many as we seem to be claimed...

I'm curious as to why yours read 100,000+. If it does, then I'm sure it has alot more on it than it reads.
