Cost, restoration, and secure transport at a reasonable distance about $2,000.

Five year old thread revived 4 years ago, people.

FWIW, unless you are being judged, I'd keep the stainless tips on because they prevent damage to the ends.

I have one with tips but no headliner. someone roached the rear window chrome by running sheet metal screws through them I guess to hold them on. $150 and I live in Cincinnati.

How much would a carbon fiber hardtop cost?

I don't have good numbers yet, but a guesstimate would be around $3,500. Maybe less, but I definitely don't think it would be more.

But why would you want non-OEM? Carbon fibre is trendy I suppose. Of no interest to me. I guess C7 owners like that stuff.

This is a real C3 top.

Just because it isn't OEM doesn't mean people aren't interested in it. I understand that some people value stock above all else, but there are a lot out there that seek to improve upon their beloved vehicle, especially since the technology is available to do so. Besides, it would be super light allowing it to be removed and put on by one person. It can also be painted or vinyl wrapped for that matter so it would look like stock if someone wanted too. The weight savings could be that big of a deal. Easy to remove and would lower the center of gravity of the car while the top is on.

Nice '74 btw
