remember, all these are meant to dampen vibration in metal panels. drumming is common in metal, a bunch different in glass. a 76 and up metal floor will have an effect, earlier, the foil side will reflect heat but drumming i don't think is an issue. use foil to reflect heat back down through the floor. bout as good as you can do.
There's sound deadening material, and reflective/insulative material. Attenuating sound requires adding mass, and changing the harmonics of the substrate. I believe the Grace ice and water shield I have left over from a recent roofing repair will do the trick there. I added a layer of Reflectix; a reflective/insulating material over the Grace product. Both of the layers together are only approximately 1/4 inch thick and don't seem to interfere with carpet installation, although I ran out of Reflectix before I finished the front floorboards. Rear carpets and storage box assembly went in perfect though. I expect the result will rival if not surpass the vastly more expensive "commercial" products.
i used relectix exclusively on the re-build of my 78 and it has been of tremendous help in reducing cabin heat levels. i would also suggest if possible that you do the best you can to use it to line the doors also as a great amount of heat has always "rolled" up the body sides on corvettes of almost every generation.
hushmat... dynamat.... it looks like ice and water shield.. same type of stuff?
Only needed if you like to BASS a certain type of music on your highly amped and sub woofered stereo. Not needed on my car with '70's and '80's rock. Modern music of a type I do not understand has a VERY hard bass line that is designed to rattle the windows of the car three lanes over. These products keep your car from vibrating itself into little pieces. mike...

Um or if you want a quiter cabin. I did my whole car and so have others to quite the car. I don't even have speakers in my car.
No disrespect intended. Just asking a simple question. Advice, get a sense of humor. We all can be off our game from time to time. Put me on ignore if you wish. mike...
