Default Odd Wiper issue on 69

I wanted to change my wiper blades to a set of replacements I bought...It has been raining so much lately that I figured I would be better off with some fresh rubber.

With the car running, I pulled the override switch, then turn on the wipers, and shut the motor off figuring the wiper motor would stop at the peak. The wipers came all the way back down to the bottom.

I tried to do it again...this time I chose to not use the override..did the same thing and the wipers cycled all the way down again.

What is the proper procedure for getting the wipers to stop so you can change the blades?

Don't feel bad. I had to think about it for a second too.

Debby is on her way out to sea. It will probably start drying out in your neck of the woods.

If memory serves me correctly, you turn on your wipers and you try to time it right when the wipers are in the middle of the windshield. then you reach down to the bottom of the steering column, theres a three way switch thingy there, the two end ones kept the wiper door and the head lamps up,or in the open position for those wintery days our cars used to be in.the one in the middle is a round wheel, your turn that and the wipers will stop and you can change your blades.

Hi R69,
Even with your broken switch you can stop the wipers in the open/up position by using your battery disconnect switch.
It takes a little bit of 'good timing', but's pretty easy to do.
Regards,
Alan
