Default Gauge Question - Hand Position Without Power

What position should my gauge hands be in when my whole cluster is out on my bench...or does it matter ???

It doesn't matter. All of your gauges are electric. With no signal, they will just land where they may...

my 78 does pretty much the same thing. even my completely rebuilt tach positions itself at around the 500 rpm position when the key is turned off. as soon as power is applied (turn the key on), all the gauges reset to the "0" position.
