Default Engine opinions

New project here1981 t top . Need opinions on engine options . Ls1 or traditional sbc? Will be a driver and driven hard

The LS series of motor is better in every possible way other than simplicity and entry cost.

Although, the simplicity argument can be debated. I think LS motors are far simpler than traditional.

Although I have much love for the LS series, I want to maintain some semblance of the original feel of the car and plan on sticking with a small block.

If power and reliability are the goal, the LS is FAR beyond the regular small block. You can build 500-600 hp mills for a few grand.

Same page as you . We are a restomod shop in new jersey but we have never done a vette. This one fell in our lap so we just wanna see what people out there are feeling a vette should carry under the hood

to do a Ls1 swap if you pay a shop big bucks lost of work to try at home old school sbc much cheaper its all in what you want and can spend
