I'm trying to tidy up a few loose ends and one of my issues was the air induction has never worked for me. The solenoid does work when 12V are supplied but I can't get it there . In my AIM it shows the relay to mount on the left side of the Map sensor but I have nothing there but there is a relay to the right but I thought that was the fuel pump relay?? Another thing when you jumper the two leads in the ALDA the solenoid will energize but does this bypass the relay?? If that is the relay on the other side how would I go about testing it? Now I was told the flap would open in "P" as long as the other conditions has been met (temp ect.) Is this correct or do you have to be moving, I wouldn't think you would since this is the very beginnings of electronics. So any help would be appreciated.
Ok did a little more research, that relay is for the air induction. I found out by unplugging the connector and performing a ohm test on the wire which does lead to the solenoid. Next I jumpered the connector 12V to the wire leading to the solenoid and it did work so that leads me to a faulty relay??? Would that be right? Could I ohm out the relay or would that not work?
I strongly agree to leave it off but it's the quest of getting it to work like it's suppose to. Either way it doesn't matter as my air cleaner has been modified. I think it's in the ECM because I have a intermittent grounding issue with the TCC so it could be causing this issue as well. I will find out on Tues as that is when the reman ECM comes in.
