Food For Thought: while almost everyone liked the looks of the 63 split when it came out, almost everyone agreed you couldn't see anything out the back.
Keep that in mind as you progress past your "concept" stage.

That's right. Have you ever wondered why the split-window was only used for one year? It's because so many people complained about it, GM changed it. I have heard that, back in the '60s, some people had the cars retro fitted with a one-piece window, and the new disk brakes that came out in '65. Seems crazy now, but you have to remember that back then, they weren't "classic" yet.

Keep the shiny side up!

i wonder if there was a survivor from one of those early mods, would it be more valuable left alone or put back as a split window?

Hmmmm, good question. I would tend to think most folks who were hot-to-trot for a split window would turn there noses up at one that had a one piece rear window installed. They might not mind the disk brakes, though. I'm not really into the C2s, don't get me wrong, if I had the means, I would love to have one or two, but they are just plain out of my price range. Do people ever retrofit a '64-'67 with a split rear window?
One of my favorite "They should have built it" cars is a split-window with a 409 in it. I understand why they didn't (I think the 409 was even heavier than the BB Chevy we all know and love) but still.......a man can dream........a man can dream........
All this car needs is a great, big rear wing, and it'll be finished! Well, OK, maybe a single grapefruit-launcher tailpipe, and some neon lights under the rocker panels, but then, done and done!
