Default 72 vette major progress

It finally looks likes a car again. I've gotten a lot of things pulled together and at this point I want to drive it so bad it almost hurts. I took it completely apart and rebuilt or replaced everything in the chassis. Almost everything got powdercoated. There were about a thousand gouges and a bunch of broken screw holes in the fiberglass. The right front and rear fenders were broken. Windshield frame was rotted. Here's some details, The freshly rebuilt original engine should now have 320 hp/390 lb ft torque, bowtie overdrives 2004R, 3:73 rear gears, 255/50-17ZR tires on SLP ZR1 replica wheels, Borgeson steering conversion, Lizard skin in the interior.

Mike, Steve, Dave and Lars, Thank You for what you guys did.

Here's a couple of pictures to see where it is now. This year has been a soap opera in my family so progress is slowing down quite a bit. With a little luck people and things will quit breaking and I can have this finished by next winter.

Bill

Before

body and windshield fixed

frame just about apart

body not so ugly - black gel coat was the first time I had seen it all one color

rolling chassis ready for a body

House of Kolors Blue Blood - The brightest red I could find.

Back together sort of.

My Congratulations, she is really looking beautiful.

Ąour 'before' pictures looks like she was a twin sister to the 73
project Vette I am selling on the C3 For Sale/Wanted.

You Vette and workmanship can stand proud.

It's not a new frame, thanks for asking that. WE pulled the old one apart and sanded some areas so they would be smooth. Then I fixed a couple of welds and had a friend who actually can weld fix some critical spots. After that we had it powdercoated. When I got the chassis all done I kinda hated to put a body over the top of it.

Thanks for the compliments guys, its making my head swell.

Bill
