speedo cable versus grommet help needed
What is the trick to getting the speedometer cable grommets over the end of the cable. I tried heating it but maybe not enough?

I've wondered about that too.
The cable and grommet are individual part numbers in the AIM which I believe means they came to St. Louis separately and were joined there.... but how?

It is a tight fit, but it can be done. I used some variation of WD-40 and silicone spray lubricant on each part and then just pure muscle. I've done it twice and it takes me about a good 15 minutes of cussing, scraping my hand, and pure willpower to get the end into the rubber grommet.
I guess if you give up, a razorblade is a next best solution.
