So I'm in the middle of rewiring the car, and after reconnecting the ignition switch I wanted to test the ignition and starter circuits underhood. Using a craftsman Voltmeter, I was getting all kinds of resistance readings between the alternator wire and the ign/starter circuits. It was showing continuity even with the switch off.

So I decided a test light would be easier. But since I have no battery or battery cables yet, it needed to be self powered. So I made one out of a small bulb and a cell phone charger.

Plug in the charger and it puts five volts to the bulb, when the two leads are connected the light comes on.

So with my Bubba too connected between B+ and ignition wire underhood I got a dim bulb with the ignition switch off, and a bright bulb when switched to run. Same with the starter circuit, the bulb glowed dim even with the key removed.

Went to the fuse block and started unplugging wires, and the light went off when I removed this.

The tan wire was connected to an ignition terminal shared, and the read wire was in a terminal at the far left bottom of the fuse block labeled "LSP".

It doesn't look factory, any ideas on what it is?

And on a semi-unrelated note, will removing the alarm switch on the drivers fender affect the either the ign/starter circuits?

Looks like a Circuit Breaker.
The alarm switch in the fender should not affect the rest of the car, its part of the alarm only

I googled the patent number on the side and it came up as a buzzer, but I don't know why it was connected to two power circuits.

I'm not sure but I think it has to do with the seat belts warning buzzer or light

On my '75, it's the headlamp warning buzzer. (LPS=Lamps)
