I don't have music in the car yet but I'll be listening to a lot of 80s music in my 82. Def leopard, poison, cheap trick and after some 80s music I'll listen to some Eminem
I love the sound of my big block '70, but I also love music; trust me I drive for miles with no stereo playing.
My nearest sibling is my sister who is 9 years older than I am and I grew up listening to her music with her firiends, in a small college town in the mid '60s during the Vietnam war escalation (she graduated high school in '66) and this probably warpped me into what I am today. I actually still have the first LP I ever bought...Animals Animals, and every kid my age in the neigborhood thought I was totally outta control.
The cool thing about music is that it creates a time stamp for a everything you ever experience in your life, good & bad. Vintage music takes you back to very specific moments in your personal timeline of life and that is what makes it so great. Ocassionally I'll hear a song on Sirus that even reminds me of a specific date with a girl over 30 years ago, but mainly for me it's about remembering old friends & great times that create a great momentary retreat from the stress of the daily grind.
OK, enough of that...I rotate a few CDs ocassionally but, the CD case in the Vette contains a permanet library of CD's from these artists for crusing in the '70 and escaping to very specifc great memories in my life:
Rolling Stones
The Who
Jimi Hendrix
Bad Company
Santana
Neil Young
CCR
The Guess Who
Grand Funk Railroad
Deep Purple
Foghat
Traffic
Joe Walsh
Little Feat
Moody Blues
Bob Seger
Jimmy Buffet
AC~DC
I've seen all but 2 of these bands live at least once, missed Hendrix and CCR.
My '73 has its own playlist. I use iTunes and eventually got around to rating all my songs. I created a playlist of all my top rated songs that were released in 1973.

Until I read this thread, I wasn't aware there was music after the early 60's. I do remember Slim Whitman - the greatest singer nobody knew! Didn't he have a 10 album record set of his million sellers for only $9.99 or something like that?
I met Slim Whitman late 70s early 80s ???? . i guess he was huge in europe, bigger than huge. throught the mists of time i don't remember the details but if i remember right they advertised his albums on TBS.
the guy is a nice, nice guy, a true gentleman.
as far as i know he is still making records, althought i have not seen him in at least 30 years
I currently have no antenna and can only pick up a current pop station real well. Occasionally, I can pick up my classic rock station
So most of the time it is just listening to the hum of the engine and exhaust or even better, I sing. One day a talent scout is going to hear me sitting at a stop light, and then it's big time
