Here is a picture of the lettering. I know this sounds cheesey, but they're loose, so they do look crooked. The bonding strips are clearly visible on both quarters. I would encourage anyone who is slightly interested to inspect this car in person. The car is a good solid driver, as is.

What is being called into question is the spacing of the letters - they appear very close. It'd be surprised if someone glassed in the old holes and redrilled new ones, but stranger things have happened.

Regardless, I think it is priced accordingly.
I see what you're saying. I sure didn't see anything obvious when the tank was out, but they could have done really good glass work, but poor letter installation. After 40 years, it's really hard to know what's happened to some of these cars that may have been through several owners.
I will take a close up of the lettering. It doesn't look like that in person. I think that's a side effect of shrinking the picture. As far as I can tell, there isn't any accident damage. I would have noticed that when the tank was out.
Wonder if the alarm keyhole was filled in by accident or on purpose?
Any history on that?
Looks like a Great driver/project
if its rust free I would jump on it
