Default Radiator Question

I got the bad news today that my 44 year old radiator is no longer serviceable... They said they could put a new core in it for just under $500. I looked around the net and have found many aftermarket radiators for less than that. Most of them state that they are for a 7.0/427. And then some state that they work with ALL 68's? Are the radiators for 68 interchangable with all the engine combos? I have a 68 coupe with a 327/300hp, th400 automatic, a/c and power steering. Any advice forum? Thanks, Jason

There are good radiators out there, and I have had several different types.... But there seems to be only 1 best......Spend just a little more and get the Dewitt's..... It really is worth it... And then you won't have to do this agian.

I have them in two C3s and an F body Camaro. No issues in any of them.

Covette Carlisle coming up, Might have a special on them there. That's where I bought the last three in the spring show.

Hi Jason,
I'd certainly consider a radiator from DeWitts too.
Carlisle appears to be quite a trip for you, but I don't imagine the shipping will be THAT much.
You might even ask for the 'show/long distance' special price!
Regards,
Alan

68 small blocks with AT got the big block 4 row Harrison copper/brass radiators. They are one year only. If memory serves, the defining difference is the width of the core between the tanks. 27" and change for 68; a little less wide 69 and up.

I am reasonably certain DeWitt's has a direct replacement. At one time, ZIP Products had them listed in their catalogue.
