hey guys i know there have been a million of these posts but cant seem to track one down. im buying bfg radial t/a tyres. will i fit a 245/70/15 on the rear of my 73 and a 235/70/15 on the front? i dont want to risk rubbing at all
tires is the next thing im replacing on my 73. sounds like a high percentage of cars can use the 245s all around without rubbing. mine currently has 225s in the front and 235s in the back. all clear fine. im going to try swappin the 235s to the front to see if they rub. if not im going to measure pray etc and order 4 245s.
as old as these cars are, some arent straight, with different levels of suspension wear there cant be any yes/no answer to your question imho. each cars different
Hi t,
MANY of the tire rubbing discussions here are about 60 series tires.
You list 70 series tires as what you're considering which is closer to the ratio that was used on the car originally.
The original tire would now be sized 215-70-15. So the larger sized tires you're considering are both wider in section and taller.
If you go to the tech page of the tires you're considering you can see the actual dimensions of the various sizes and have a better idea of what you're buying.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
