Default Fixed tail lights, but...

I replaced my tail light socket and got everything working, but now I've got another light problem. On my way back from cruising with the new side pipes, my speedo/tach lights and my center console gauge lights just shut off. I changed the fuse, and played with the headlight switch, but nothing changed. My turn signal and high beam indicators still work, too. Any idea as to what it is? My guess is the switch is bad, but they still operate the headlights. If anyone has any insight, I'd love to hear it! Thanks in advance,

-Damon

Sounds like someone will be taking their dash off....then while doing that...will decide to replace the entire interior and the wiring harness...and while he is at it...might as well do a frame off

I recently started blowing fuses and would lose the interior and tail lights. Never had this issue before, replaced the fuse and next time I would start it up same thing. I knew it had to be a short and remembered that in the spring I put the cigarette lighter in the receptical instead as I have just left it in the ash tray for years. That was what was causing my short, took it out and back to normal. Hopefully your problem is as simple a fix as mine.
