I am seriously thinking of painting my 79 a matte or satin black when it comes time to repaint it in its repair process. I would mix in either gloss black or another color for accents to the hood and maybe some other areas. Curious if there are any pics of cars painted like this besides Panic's Vette. I love this look and have actually be thinking about it for quite some time.
So lets see what you got!

that is the look that got me turned on to the c3 in the beginning.go for it!so what did i buy,a white vette.my paint is so poor i will be going there soon.now where did i leave my pill box.
It's personal taste. Whatever turns you on. Flat black to me seem to look like a poor-man's paint job, or a car that had a crappy paint job from the get go. But on some race car type applications it looks ok. Some guys like it and you see it on a few street rods (usually the not-so-good-ones ...what does that tell you). But it doesn't matter what I think, it's what YOU want to do, and what you like. Som if you like it ...go for it.
so on the subject of this wrap, has anyone actually had their c3 wrapped? I know from searching I've seen one done (pretty wacky design for a book or something), but has there been one in a solid color?
Bearing in mind I've never wrapped a car, but it seems to be the C3 with all its curves, and no break in hood surround would be hard to wrap, and need some sort of seam in the middle that would peel eventually. Wondered if anyone had any actual experience with it, and what the results are/were?
Well, after alot of looking, and my girlfriend threatening to dump me, I will not be going with a flat or sattin finish. HOWEVER, I did find something I LOVE. Stay tuned, it will hopefully be done in 2-2.5 weeks ...
