Saturday I was blessed by my daughter asking to accompany me on a ninety mile solo cruise to Solvang Ca to meet up with a fellow California Stingray member (Bee Jay) at the Wheels and Windmills car show. Day was awesome, weather was great, show was incredible, car ran perfect but I believe the best and most important part of the day was when my twelve year old asked if when she turns fourteen would I help to pick her a car we could build together “Dad, that gives two years to get it done before I turn sixteen, we can do that right?” Oh hell yes sweetheart, we can make that work together” Yeah, that kinda made my day.
Thanks Steve......Yup gotter right this time, I even showed her the dent that Darrow put in the embankment on the back over the hill. If we do it again next year I got us all dailed in.
awesome! My daughter is 23 and we still work on cars together. Those are memories she will have long after we are all gone. Cars are here for a while then gone, but daughters are forever.
The same reason that he likes to park underneath boulders.
I have to agree that you're a great Dad when your daughter wants to spend a long day with you and she is asking about a father and daughter project that may take years. You are very fortunate.
Priceless!
Wow, it's been a while since I posted here. Yep, I hooked up with Todd at the Solvang Windmill Car Show. Lots of cars, but this black 70-71 really caught my eye. The car had a Procharger supercharger and a Holley LT1 style fuel injection. NO intercooler because he was running Methonal Injection to cool the charge. A very well engineered car and it was local. I forgot the owners name, but maybe someone here knows him. I think he lives in Paso Robles or Atascadero. Here are some pictures I took.
