Default Advice/tips

I'm getting ready to instal two things and need some tips/advice from you guys. I was trying to instal my stock radiator back into my '74 Vette and had difficulties doing so with the thick seal at the bottom. It wouldn't let me push down enough to instal the upper radiator supports. Is there an easier way to install this thing?

On to the second question:
Any helpful tips or advice to instal new body bushings(polyurethane)?
What's a good method to tackle such job?

On your second question. I've read where you can jack up the body on one side and replace the body mount bushings. Loosen the mounts on the opposite side. Just lift one-sided at a time just enough to replace the bushings. I think they use a floor jack with a board on top of it to lift the body just a little bit.

Don't do this on my post alone you need more specific information. Remember your fingers will be in a very dangerous spot if something should slip.

By using the search feature you may be able to find a thread on exactly how this is done.

Is your radiator seal installed correctly?

Why polyurethane? Stock rubber bushings will be fine and likely to cost less. Index the shims stacks before you remove them.

Is there a correct side to install the lower seal? I chose polyurethane because this car will be auto crossed.

the seal is usually made of easily compressible foam not rubber or polyurethane. Is this seal something homemade?

It's actually the original seal. It is in good condition, so I decided to reuse it.

I can't imagine the 'original' radiator shroud seals not disintegrating when you separated the radiator from the shroud [if there was anything left of them to separate]. Perhaps they were replaced prior to your ownership?

The bottom one didn't disintegrate, but I did replace the rest.
