Dropped the motor into the chassis this past week. Started cleaning and painting brackets and pulleys. I also bolted up the exhaust, which not surprisingly didn't fit. The heads are a 1/4" taller then stock. I bought the exhaust when I was going more stock with the motor. Now I need to decide if I want to lower the motor in the frame or lengthen the headers, which i had ceramic coated?

Pretty awesome thread, with great pics! Calling this a "refresh" is a little bit of an understatement!!

Working on cleaning up and painting brackets and engine accessories. I need to get the body back on the car and into the garage again.

Either lowering the motor or lengthening the headers, hmmm, maybe go the header route because of all the other parts that will be effected by the lower motor, a lot, plus if ever the motor should be switched, it would be at normal height and ground clearance.
Good hp numbers from the small block to.

Labhound, I've been leaning towards modifying the headers for the reasons you mentioned. I was just hoping to avoid cutting apart those headers. Just one more thing to change I was hoping I wouldn't have to.

Slow progress. Plumbed the gas tank, still working on engine accessories, and finishing up the chassis.

This is the car that was on Fire Road. I moved to Court House and took the car with me. If you're ever down that way stop by. I'd like to see yours sometime as well.

Prepped the headers last night. Planning to weld them up on Saturday.

Very cool-I'm headed out today to see about getting my 63 worked-on.
Need to get the rebuilt booster put in and brakes bled.
If you ever come up to EHT just email me and stop bye to see the car. Keep the post coming

on your car.

Spent Saturday sorting out the exhaust. It is fitted and tacked together. Just needs to be welded solid.

Torqued the rear spring. Put the steering column in to make it easier to move around and cleaned things up.
