Hopefully insurance will pay for everything and it'll be as good as new. Been there done that....it sucks, but the feeling of seeing it after repair and paint is quite marvelous!
Ah crap...! I'm working on the front clip of my '80 right now so I know how much work it's going to take to repair your damage. My heart bleeds for you and your beautiful car. On the plus side, putting the cost aside, Vette body damage can be repaired and made to look as good as new afterwards.
...ive spent 2 years restoring it and i hate to see it like this..
Dang - I hate seeing it like this, too! Very sorry about your mishap.
You are not alone, unfortunately many of us have had similar incidents. On my first Vette (a '75), I had just finished a suspension and brake rebuild and put new tires on it. The first week back on the road (after months in the garage), I found out how differently the '75 now handled in the rain, but a little too late. I spun around 180° and slid off the road facing the wrong way, folding both driver's side wheels up under the car. So much for the new suspension parts! Somehow the new paint job was spared...until the idiot flatbed driver chewed up the rear bumper with the chain! Back to the garage for several months.
Hang in there, the car can be repaired. Best of luck getting it back on the road.
I've rear ended a car before too, by taking my eyes off the road for a second, so been there done that. My was my DD, so no exactly apples to apples, but I know where you're coming from. Nothing more than a simple mistake, and it can be fixed. Dont beat yourself up too bad.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune. But you're OK, and the car is fixable.
Don't let the insurance company try to patch those panels together. You need a new hood surround, a new left front fender and a new bumper at least. New panels and quality workmanship and your car will be fine.

Man, don't baby-talk him! He wasn't paying attention to the road, and he slammed into another vehicle. He should feel bad. What if it had been a little kid chasing a ball? You think you feel bad now? When I was 18, I wrecked my '68 Mustang, showing off, and I felt lower than whale crap. I know how you feel, kid. Suffering builds character, and so forth. You'll get over it, and I hope you learned something from your mistake. I know I did. We all make mistakes, but only some of us learn from them, be one of the ones who learns, OK? BTW, I wish you the best of luck in dealing with the insurance company, the body shop, and I hope you end up with your 'vette all back in one piece, and a little smarter for the experience.

Keep the shiny side up!

I do feel bad considering I bought the car 2 years ago when I was 15. And finally finished restoring it a month ago.
