Other than I'm new to vettes, I may have bit off more than I can chew. Being disabled isn't helping either, but money is a "big" issue.
I bought it before my stroke. I got the a/c compressor changed ok!! But the compressor block port is plugged. Someone epoxied it shut. So I got to get a new one which consist of taking the vir accumulator out. It way down behind the pass. side tire. I took overflow tank out,got the bracket off. But there is a small line on the back I can't get to from the top. I heard you have to go from the bottom. Anyone have access the a service manual with instructions???????????? Helppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp ppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
It's a early model 76.
There is an access plate at the bottom behind the wheel well. You will need to remove the left side rocker panel just below the door for access to one of the bolts.

He's right, the panel isnt so much an access panel as a part of the lower guard that stops rubbish and water from splashing up in to the engine bay and underneath the blower box. I didnt have to completely remove my rocker panel, just the first three nuts which allows you to move it outwards enough to gain access to the one bolt that is behind it. Even with this panel off it is still hard to reach with both hands as you will need to hold the drier still with one hand while you undo the fittings with the other, a friend holding the drier steady from above may help. Cheers, Dennis.
