Depends on the problem. Is it the switch or the motor? If you suspect the switch is the culprit, connect the passenger's plug to the driver's switch and try it.

I cut the wires at the motor. Car is completely gutted redoing all. That motor was working. Can i just run it to the battery to get it up.

Yes.

Ground goes to the motor case, and the positive goes to one of the terminals. One of the terminals will make it go up, and the other down.

I was under the impression that the two power leads on the connector to the motor carry (-) ground and (+) DC. The window switch reverses the polarity for the motor to drive up or down.

Ok window stuck down nothing works to get it up. Rewiring total car. OK Window motor is grounded to the door frame??? The window counsel switch has three wires total coming out of it. Two go to the power window motor so i can assume that the black third wire is the power?
