I disassembled the steering column from a '78 vette for reconditioning and paint. In the process the oval headed torx screws were damaged and lost. Now I cannot find them in any catalogs or online. Can anybody tell me were to find them? In a repair kit if nnecessary. Thanks alot
These guys have all sorts of doo-dads and small parts. http://www.natauto.com/
They used to have a lot of parts that fit GM steering columns. Have a look or give them a call. They have a great catalog (just illustrations), and they have more items than are shown in their caralog. But like I say, lot of small parts for cars that nobody seems to carry anymore.
First of all, I assume that you have a T&T steering column because nearly all Corvettes had T&T columns by 1978. (But this is important information!) We need to identify exactly what screws are missing.
In Section #2 of the following scan. Are they the 3 screws that hold the turn signal switch?
In Section #4 of the following scan. Are they the 3 screws that hold the cover?
In the top section of the following scan. Are they the 4 screws that hold the support?
Hi, they are the 3 oval head screws that hold the cover before the turn signal swich. ( pic 1, view 4 ) I can't send the attachments so if you give me an email address I will send you the pics of it.
Thanks for your collaboration
best regards
Gaetano
Pace Car.. rather than post another huge picture, I changed the one above.. If it's the screws in K-1 then yes I'm pretty sure I have a set, I'd have to check.. you can email me at support@Willcoxcorvette.com or give sales a call tomorrow.

I think that you mentioned that the screws you need are the turn signal housing screws (Pic #1, Section 4). The only place that I was able to find them was at Dr. Rebuilds site. (800) 866-9362

They are special screws. It is the thread on the screws that actually have three lobes, not the head itself.
