Default Drive in Theater Night

This is the email sent out by the car club I belong to,Northern Illinois Streeters. Should be a fun night, the theater is just down the road a mile from my home.

Hello Streeters:

For those of you patiently waiting for our Drive-In Theater Night, your wish is our command!

NEXT SATURDAY NIGHT, SEPT. 2nd WILL BE OUR DRIVE-IN THEATER NIGHT AT THE MCHENRY OUTDOOR IN MCHENRY!

We've had some members questioning whether or not the Theater was closed down or still open... Well the Theater was sold earlier this year to Golden Age Cinemas that purchased the Theater after "C U at the Movies" group lost the lease to the property. Golden Age Cinemas has picked up right where the former owners left off, and is as before now showing their "Throwback movies"!

The Featured "Throwback Movies" are: American Grafitti follwed by the Blues Brothers!

Now the plan is very much the same as always...

We will be meeting at the Culvers in McHenry at 5:00pm for those wanting dinner or a treat before. We WILL try to leave from there, with ALL the Show Cars at about 6pm to 6:15pm.
From there we will make the short jaunt to the McHenry Drive-In, where we will have a Reserved Spot for our Show Cars courtesy of the Management.

Now Streeters Member, "Demon" Doug Bergdahl is making the arrangements for the club and keeping in contact with the theater. One thing I will ask Doug is if he can have our location moved forward to where we usually park, which is right next to and to right of (if you are facing the screen) the projection booth. From there we will ALL park our Show Vehicles together.

What we do from there is bring our chairs out and set them in front of the cars (Theater style in rows, sit together and enjoy the evening air, the movie and the company! I'll have a "Boom Box" radio for the sound. We could use a couple more if anyone has one they could bring... (Battery-powered of course). Everyone can casually go and get snacks from the "Party Tables" as they want, and it makes for a NICE enjoyable evening.

As always we're asking for people to bring snacks to pass, if you have a "Small, short folding table" of some sort, please bring it, as we can use it to put some of the snacks on... AKA the "Party Table"!

Details at a Glance:

Club Event: McHenry Outdoor Drive-In Theater Night!

That looks like it would be a lot of fun! Love the drive in, and going to one in a classic car is the best.

Enjoy!
