Had the 74 on jack stands to clean under side. After it was on the ground, each tire revolution, one rear wheel would lock. It would go ok in reverse then in drive the same issue. A littlte more gas, clunk then go another revolution.
The car was raised up and lowered by the frame.
Any suggestions??

What I would look for is if one of the stub axels has pulled out of the differential. When the car is up on stands the rear wheels are hanging by the halfshafts. This pulls on the stub axels and may be the problem. Look at the amount of axel that is exposed on each side. I hope this is not the problem. They should look like this pic.. Another possibility is that you have a worn out u-joint on one of the halfshafts that due to the pulling load, has caused it to lock up. Good luck with it. mike...
I checked the axals , no gaps or signs of being pulled out. Going to try rolling again tomorrow. The binding/ clank only comes from one wheel.
Thanks for the suggestings.
Went out today. Brake cable is good. Not loose or stuck. Going to take the drive shafts out for a universal joint check. Thanks for the hepl, everyone.

How did you check the axles? Was it a visual check, or did you lift the car and try to move the wheel? With the wheel off the ground - grasp the top and bottom of the wheel and try to pull/push it in and out.
Should not be much play. If the axle moves quite a lot, could be the shaft is worn and the clip has come off - causing the binding.
