You could go with an aftermarket pump mounted elsewhere. It might not be easy either because you need to wire it and probably add a switch somewhere and also get a good ground.

Mine is a daily driver putting on 20K miles a year. It has rained in the many years I have owned it. 221K miles on it, 170K of which came from me. Glad it doesn't rain in your garage, but it does rain in the real world.
we only get about 4 inches of rain a year . . . so it's not much of a challenge by comparison . .
