Default Intake Snorkel

Im looking to remove to snorkel part of intake. Its not hard to do, I saw photos of others with and without. I prefer not to have it, But my question is if there is anything else I must do afterwards. Im ok with having the filter exposed as well.

I looked at your profile to see what year you had and there was nothing there.

Why are you going to remove the snorkel? Seems like if you dont like it then it may be better to buy an after market air cleaner assembly.

I saw one at my local part store for under $30.

Yes, good question... why remove the intake snorkel. The engine runs better when sucking cooler air from in front of the rad. My car came with an open Edelbrock filter. I've since purchased a dual intake snorkle. Chevy engineers got this right over 30 years ago.

Up to you. Your car pulls outside air from over the radiator support. Without the snorkel connection, you will lose the benefit of cooler outside air for the carburetor.
