Has any one ever cut that opening where the front flat edge is and made a functional vent there? Would there be any benefit to having an air vent in the hood to let the hot air out?
there was a thread about this, it was pointed out by folks that it wouldnt be the best vent. if you do use it make sure to fab a drip tray to keep rain off your engine
I'm building a 72 and the new intake/transmission shift plate make the carb sit just enough higher that the original small block hood wont shut. I've been looking at other options and the body shop had an aftermarket LT1 hood that clears and looks good.
