Stock would be two tail lights and two backup lights (inner pair). Do you have the assembly instruction manual (AIM)? The AIM shows how they mount and plug up to the rear harness. Are you removing these or installing them?

Order the AIM. You'll find it to be helpful for lots of things.

Dump the Chilton's. It's handy for tune ups but is too generic for your 76. Order the AIM. It's model year specific.

My wiring is a total mess, I reckon I need to replace the harness.
Looking at the Willcox site at the moment but can only see the front lamp harness?
Its real bad...

Inner lamp mess.

Would it be acceptable to make a waterproof junction box and completely make a custom harness and lamp holder that would do the job?

What does acceptable mean?
I think I would just replace that, it does look bad.
If you can't find one, then take it out and simply duplicate it. I think all the connectors are available. Some soldering and heat shrinking and your good to go.

Thinking of chopping the harness up in the arch and fitting a waterproof junction box that will house all the new soldered connections. Found a UK supplier that does all the same colour cables. So reckon I'll go down that route... Just need to find lampholders.

Bought the painless wiring system for the entire car. Got to rig some stuff but most seems to be working ok.

Is that the one I seen on ebay US?
I've a friend over in Texas at the moment and he can bring me back some stuff. I'll look into that.

Is this any good? Anyone used it?
