Hello, recently I've been thinking about installing a new Autometer Phantom mechanical speedometer in my 82 corvette. I searched for the answer but couldn't find it. Is it possible to keep the same odometer reading when installing a new speedometer? I do not want my odometer rolled back to 0.

I doubt they will let you do that. That would allow you to set the ODO anywhere you wanted. While I know you only have the noblest of intentions, others may not be so ethical.
Yes, you can do this with no problem. I went through this last year. I bought my Auto Meter speedo online and then sent it back to Auto Meter. They reset the mileage to match the odometer that came off the car.
Before you make the leap, check with your DMV regarding new/resetting odometers. In many states, vehicle laws will not allow you do this or require law enforcement intervention before you can do it.

You're talking about rolling one back. The OP is wanting his new odometer to read the same as the one being removed from the vehicle. No law against that according to Auto Meter. They do this all of the time.

Of course you can do it yourself if you have the know how. You just can't roll the miles backward with an intent to defraud. You can certainly set a new odometer to match the read from the odometer it is replacing.
