Default leaky duel filter help

I have recently replaced my gas tank and fuel filter on my 69 and have a bear of a time getting the metal lines to seal on the filter. I got the top end from leaking after a while but no mater what I do, the bottom line still has a very small leak.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what may be causing this or a way to fix.
Thanks for any input.!

Metal fuel lines use the inner flare, on the end of the line and seat, inside filter to seal, not the threads. Ck. for any burrs or other imperfections in these areas. You can use very fine sandpaper or small jewlers files to clean them up. Be sure to remove any filings. I use a little anti-seize on the threads and flare/seat surfaces so that the connection can be tightened without binding or twisting. You are dealing with less than 10lbs. pressure so there must be something preventing a clean tight fit between the flare and seat. Good luck with it. mike...

Early Q-jets used sintered bronze filters...not the corrugated paper type. The new paper filters can appear to be the same length, but the diameter at the inner end is too large and it will keep the fitting from reaching the point where it seals. Carefully measure your filter length and compare it with the available depth in the filter housing. If there is just not quite enough room for it DO NOT TRY TO FORCE IT TO FIT. That will just cause you to strip the threads in the filter housing...which is MUCH more trouble to repair. Install the bronze filter like the original, or consider installing an external filter in the metal line from fuel pump to carb.
