Carpet Question
Another post here has me wondering about the carpet on the sides on the console, but I didn't want to hijack their thread.
Is the carpeting on the sides on the console part of an interior package - related to certain years or?? Curious as our '77 originally had the deluxe door panels with the chrome trim (came with the car) and carpet (missing). The PO replaced the console and did not add carpeting to the sides. Would our car have this from the factory?

I'll have to check this evening. The deluxe interior trim package (which would have included carpet and trim on the door panels) may not have been available on the 77s.

Thanks again for your help on this Mike. Our '77 came with the chrome door trim (in a parts box), but given the condition of it, that does not mean that they were correct for this car.

As usual.. Mike is correct.. 
All 77 cars came with the Deluxe interior which means your door panels would have used the moldings and carpet on them.
(Just not on the shift console side panels)

Thank you for the responses Mike and Wilcox. Makes sense then. I have the trim, and vinyl on the console sides. I guess, if I want to put the trim on the new door panels I'll need a little carpet.
