Headers and alternator bracket
So Im going with headers and need a good alternator bracket. Ive read here on the forum that some of the brackets the vendors got are weak and that a forum member was making his own, which ended up being of good quality.
I need your opinions. I was considering this one:

Yay? Nay?
Will the alt line up with the belt exactly as it was stock?
Thanks

You could use a Header Power Bracket. Then you would have front/rear adjustment to be sure the belt lines up.

I've found that the stock 1971 bracket and adjustment arm works the best......perfect fit, no issues.

Hey....a 1971 bracket is identical to my 1970 stock bracket (according to some schematic diagrams I found). If thats the case then the bracket has a blt going though the alternator and into the stock manifold for stability.
With headers...that bolt has nowhere to go. Do you have a picture from the other side of the engine bay showing the alternator setup?
Thanks

I've been using the one you show in your Summit link. No problems with belt alignment here.

I agree with raflc. Use a later model (I believe it's 72 and up) and you're good to go. They're on eBay all the time for $30-$50. Here's mine:

Will the stock length belt still be good?

I was able to use the same alternator belt after changing to the '72 alternator bracket.
