i set the 75 vette body back on the chassis and it is sitting on all the mounts with no spaces.im using urethane bushings .if its sitting flat all the way around does it need shims?is there a procedure for the shimming process because either mine fell out or were never installed.most of the bolts had to be cut off when removing the body and i never saw shims.the doors open fine and dont see any gaps that are not right.
Hi m49,
I seriously doubt there was ever a car built with no shims at all.
What I usually suggest for people without a 'shim count' is to put 2 shims on each mount and then add or subtract at each mount as necessary to obtain the gaps you're happy with.

Alan
if it's sitting nicely on the frame and door gaps are even, you could bolt it down. however-if in the future the bushings settle and gaps develop, you may want to add/remove some shims. so, i'd recommend adding one shim at all locations, just so you have someting to remove if needed in the future. you can access all the bolts except the #2's without lifting the body, so having a shim at that inaccessable spot is a litttle insurance. imo.
