A friend of mine has a 7029202 DH Qjet that he would sell to me for $100 or less. He says it came off a 350/300 auto trans 1969 Corvette, and the serial number does indicate that as well. It's a core essentially, but is in really nice shape overall...looks like it would be a nice carb with a kit in it and polished up. I would do most of the rebuild myself, likely. Worth having?

Should clarify that I don't need it for either of my cars, I just like to mess around with these things.

Any Q-Jet in original configuration and decent condition is worth saving, IMO. That one isn't a "rare" item, so it doesn't have great value; but it's probably worth $75 as it sits.

No serial number on a Q-Jet. I think your friend is referring to the model number (7029202). There is also a date code on them. He has the correct Quadra-Jet for the base engine 350 automatic for the 69 models.

Thanks...yes Mike that's what I meant by the serial number (7029202), the date code.

Maybe I'll take it off him and pull it apart this winter. If I don't it will just sit in his basement forever anyway probably. If I was motivated I could probably calibrate it to work fine on my 4 speed 1970 anyway right (as a back up)?

Thanks guys.

It will work fine on your '70 if you have an intake manifold for a Q-jet and you do a rebuild/recalibrate on it.

Thanks. Yes my 70 is a stocker with its original intake and 7020407.

Figure the poor carb is an orphan, needs to be adopted.
