Alarm and Kill Feature

The previous owner of my vette ('81) said there was no alarm or keyless entry. I open the door of the car when it's locked and it FREAKS out. Horn going crazy, car won't start. I undo the battery, then hook it back up and car starts fine. Here's my q. Is this a factory feature? If so, how does it work exactly.

Cruise-In II Veteran

All 80-82s had factory alarm systems. The owner's manual explains the operations and how to arm/disarm it.

No C3s had keyless entry.

No 'keyless' entry systems in C3's...but, if you have power door locks, that is an easy add-on. Or, you can install a power door lock and keyless entry system, if you want.
