Corvette Forum: I'm Baaaack!! New C3!!
So as you most know, I have owned a bright green 75 coupe for the last 5 years or so, and in that time, with the help of many people, restored almost every part of the car. Last March, a lady came to look at my brother's corvette, and then asked how much mine was. I ad just got done with a complete drive train replacement, and didn't want to sell the car. She the proceeded to make me an offer I couldn't refuse. So I sold my baby, my first corvette. Here is a pic in memory.
So with that car gone, I needed something that I could drive asap, and in the next few days, started looking at C5 corvettes. These were the new corvettes when I was in the 10-12 year old stage, so I have always liked them. Here is a pic of that car.
As much as I liked the C5, the maintenance costs were kinda crazy, and with the mileage I knew if I was going to put money into a car, it might as well be a car that I love, not just like. I decided to put the car up for sale and trade. A few days later, I got an email for a straight across trade, and it was too good to pass up. So now I finally have a C3 again, and not to mention it is my C3 dream car. Right now sitting in my driveway is a 1973 Corvette big-block convertible. Non numbers matching, but a legit bb vert. Originally elkhart green and saddle interior. It needs alot of little things, but nothing I am afraid to tackle. It did make the hour drive home on the highway. I hope to see some of you North Texas C3 owners at the car shows soon. and of course PICS!!!

I saw the traded one at Cars and Coffee one day, I think the trade was a very good one. Not anything negative against the 05, but hard to beat the lines that C3.

congrats on the "new" '73 BB!
I'm looking forward to getting the body back on the frame of my '73 convertible sometime next year...(or the year after that.. lol)
as far as a daily driver goes, you can't beat a C5 for performance AND mileage!

Hi C,
Very nice looking car!
It's very difficult to not like a RED CONVERTIBLE.
I'll bet the 73 turned more heads during the 1 hour drive than the newer one did the whole time you had it! (Honest, I can't tell what year the newer one is/was.)
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
