Yes, that appears to be a stock radio. Are the letters green tinted? If they are, then it's correct for 68-71. If they're white, it would be for a '72 and up. The green faced ones are a little more desirable.
They appear to be white. Just was looking thru some old photos and found this one taken by the PO before he started restoration project years ago (which continues). This looks like the radio that was in the car at that time.
Is the 'convector' in that pile of stuff with the radio head? It is an aluminum heat-sink with one big power transistor on it (and a couple of resistors and small capacitors on the back-side). The convector is the final stage of amplification and must be installed with the [matching] radio head for it to work. The convector should be mounted to the lower windshield frame support on the right side, behind the right side dash panel.

I know the piece you mean. It may be in a box somewhere in storage. A finned aluminum deal with something that looked like a capacitor mounted on it. Hope I still have it.
Yep. That 'silver button-thing' mounted to the finned heat-sink is the power transistor for the final amplification stage. You need it or another convector from a '70-'76 non-stereo radio.
The radio is probably worth about $50, while the "correct" ***** go for $500 each! (That's just the corvette way, I honestly don't know market value of either these days)
I also have a spare convector, my 68 project came with two. It is with Jerry Rudbeck now along with my radio for restoration. If you need it let me know, I will be selling the extra one so long as it test out okay by Jerry.
