So , I picked up a 1978 anniversary model . I will post some pics soon . Anyway . When I turn the steering wheel the horn will honk . Seems to do it alot . I noticed that the horn button has alot of play . Possibly when I am turning the wheel the easy play is making the horn honk . I don't think there is a short . Is there a way to tighten this up ? Anyone know of this issue and point me in the right direction .As of now I disconnected the horns but don't want to leave it for long like this . Thanks .

Reason: additional information.
Thanks , gonna order one up and get it installed when I bring it in next week for a tranny service . I really appreciate it . I have the horns disconected for the time being . I am new to the C3 section and really like my new ride .
I had a similar problem in my 79. If there are no shims for the horn contact, definitely put at least one in there to tighten that up.
My problem however was not with the shim, everything was tight. My problem was lower int he steering column. My horn honked when turning the wheel and moving the turn signal lever. The problem turned out to be the screw that puts tension on the turn signal lever just under the turn signal canceling cam. , that screw was touching the contact on the cam which would cause the horn to honk.
I ended up having to grind down that screw and now all is well
