Default 71 Corvette Value?

I am in the market for a corvette, and have found the following corvette for sale. As I am new to older Corvettes, I'm not sure on the values.

1971 corvette
350
auto trans
T-tops
Frame off restoration in 1991 (garage kept since then)
Paint is in good condition, better than a 20 footer (painted in 1991)
A med Blue with Back interior
All gauges work
Claims its numbers matching except color of paint
Crome bumpers are in nice shape.

Let me know what you guys think this could be worth.

Thanks
Mariobro

Doesn't look like a SB 350 hood, I think that's a BB hood. The turn signals on my 71 are clear. Those are what popped at me from the pics. I'd say low 20's, but I am FAR from any kind of expert.

1. It doesnt have the original hood, someone put a big block hood on.
2. It doesnt have the original steering wheel, looks like a leather wheel.
3. The carpeting behind the seats looks like non-stock.
4. Aftermarket valve covers and ignition system.
5. Aftermarket intake manifold and headers.
6. Where are the shoulder belts?

It's a nice car, hope you get it....But what keeps the values relatively high on these is the originality and this one is missing some stuff, plus typically Auto gets less than a 4 speed.

pretty sure the luggage rack is a dealer installed option and not an option for the build sheet if you wanna get crazy with details (if i remember correctly)

The LT-1 also had a domed hood with the pinstriping. If you can determine which motor is in the car it will help us guesstimate a value. The valve covers are incorrect.

My estimate for that car...based on your description:

If all mechanical aspects of the car are satisfactory, value between $12-16K.

If mechanical systems need significant work, discount it accordingly: $8-12K. ($8K would be if all the mechanicals needed "help")

If the car is not 'operational', $5-8K.

Likewise, if all mechanicals have been rebuilt within the last 5 years (or 10K miles) and operation is flawless, you could go as high as $19K.

I wouldn't dwell on the #'s matching thing too much because obviously it's not , if it's a nice car and you like it , go for it.
I'd try to bring someone along that know's C3's though if i were you.
You can probably look to pay in the low to mid 20's for sure though ,Just my opinion.
Best of luck.

Thanks for the info Guys. I did find out it was not a LT1, but a 350 with a cam (not sure if it was a complete rebuild at this point). I plan on making a decision on this soon.

Thanks again, I have removed the picture links as I'm not sure if the buyer uses these forums.

Where has it lived and where is it located now? Sorry if I missed that info, but rust can be a deal breaker for these cars either up around the base of the windshield frame and where it attaches to the frame as well as the "doglegs" by the rear wheels . . make certain you or someone that knows Vettes does a thorough inspection of the frame and crossmembers for rust . . . you do not want to replace the frame.

Good luck !
